We last spoke to you about our industry leading airsoft batteries, and subsequently the sport of airsoft, all the way back in April. We provided an extensive guide on how you can use our fantastic airsoft batteries to take you to battlefield success.
Now that summer has officially arrived, some might think that the opportunity to play airsoft has significantly decreased. However, this is definitely not the case. Many players actually cite playing airsoft in the summer as being one of, if not the best, times to play the sport.
This being said, there are a couple of caveats to playing the sport when the temperatures start to rise. Performing any sought of physical activity during hot temperatures can be very difficult and even potentially detrimental to your health if you have not taken into consideration the appropriate requirements.
If you do not follow the correct guidelines, your airsoft batteries might not be the only things running out of charge and potentially overheating. As such, we thought we would provide a guide on how to play airsoft in the summer. To ensure you have as much charge as one of our airsoft, lipo and life batteries.
While this one might seem quite simple, it does not mean it is any less effective. When temperatures start to reach more extreme highs, you might opt not to wear decidedly warmer or heavy clothing.
For anyone that has played airsoft before, they will tell you that the traditional airsoft armours are particularly heavy, leaving little room for breathability. This will make the player significantly warmer meaning they will sweat substantially more as well as increasing the possibility of suffering from heat exhaustion. Additionally, traditionally armours are bulkier making it harder to manoeuvre for combat purposes.
Luckily, there are more options than the traditional options. There is usually lighter armour available that allows for more breathability as well as significantly better manoeuvrability. Lighter and more summer friendly armour will not only provide greater comfort for you while you are gaming, but it will also increase the chances of battlefield success in those summer months. Which afterall, is one of the most important things.
Again, this one might seem like a no-brainer but it must be said nonetheless. If you happen to be playing airsoft when the sun is at its strongest, the extreme heat can cause problems to your health.
Additionally, when the sun is at its strongest, the UV rays are too. This can cause many issues, especially regarding the care of your skin. If you do not protect your skin, not only could you see rather burns, the rays can inflict potentially long lasting side effects. As such, you might want to seek out shade as and when you can.
Well it might be virtually impossible to find shade throughout the game due to intricacies and dynamics of the course in question, as when you can, you should find and take shelter to rest and recuperate.
Another way to protect your skin during periods of strong heat and strong sunshine is by applying sun protection. Usually a sun cream with a high factor is recommended but not always essential. The more important thing is ensuring you have some form of protection during high temperatures.
When it comes to sport; correct and proper nutrition is key. If you want to be at your physical and complete best, monitoring what you eat is paramount. You will want to ensure that you are eating a balanced mixture of the correct proteins, carbohydrates and appropriate fats.
This is all the more important in the summer. In the summer, unlike our airsoft batteries we might say, you can easily find yourself running out of metaphorical steam. One of the easier ways to do this is by ensuring you have eaten properly in preparation for the upcoming battle.
When playing a sport as physical and as potentially challenging as airsoft in the summer, you might want to position camouflage towards the top of your priorities. Not only will camouflage increase the possibilities of you hiding from your opponents and sneaking up on them, you will also be able to utilise the camouflage by having some much needed rest.
When you are successfully hidden, you will not need to worry about sudden attacks meaning you can use this time to relax and recharge from the heated play.
If you have ever played airsoft before, you will probably know that the guns require gas. In the winter, extreme temperatures can cause certain issues when it comes to gases and how they are managed.
Same can be said for the summer. Hot temperatures can potentially cause gases to expand, this can cause the pressure and velocity to increase which can be triggered when fired.
During the winter, this might be a mild annoyance, in the summer, it is almost beyond beneficial. This is because players will then have an assortment of gases to choose from.
