In the early stages of 2022, many of us might be in need of a recharging. However, you might not be the only thing in need of a recharge. You can pretty much be assured that your batteries will need recharging too.
When first entering the exciting world of rechargeable batteries it can sometimes seem quite daunting and maybe even scary. Many customers continue to use their same old standard batteries day in, day out.
Whilst standard batteries are by no means insufficient, for example our 7.2v batteries are in industry, they do not offer many of the same outstanding benefits rechargeable batteries proudly showcase. At Vapextech, we pride ourselves on showcasing all the knowledge you need to make the most informed and correct consumer purchase decisions. So whether you are buying your first 8 bay charger or you are a recharging veteran and have a handful of aa aaa c d pp3 already at your disposal, let’s take a look at some of the essentials of this all important staple of the industry.
The first rechargeable battery was all the way back in 1859. It was made the French physicists Gaston Pinthe. Gaston made the first rechargeable due to the fact that many batteries of the time had a sufficient power but poor battery life.
We think it is safe to say that really succeed when it came to bring an aspect of longevity to his batteries.
Whilst we can quite easily get technical when it comes to how these increasingly popular batteries work, you will do our best to break it down into easily digestible information without getting too bogged down with technical jargon.
Before delving into how rechargeable batteries work, we will want to develop a general understanding of how normal batteries work.
Batteries produces electrons pass through an anode to cathode until all of the electrons run out. A rechargeable battery reverses the electrons back through the anode thus restoring the battery back to its original state and creating a fully charged battery.
Early last we highlighted some of the many advantages of rechargeable batteries. We would like to expand on these whilst giving you a quick overview:
When it comes to making any battery purchase, one of the biggest contributing factors is how long will the battery last. Afterall, you don’t want to keep disposing of batteries every few months.
You might be forgiven in thinking that because for thinking that because rechargeable batteries eventually require recharging, the longevity and durability of the frequently mentioned batteries is subpar when it comes to performance.
This is not the case however. Assuming the batteries are properly maintained, the lifespan of the batteries can be as long as 7-8 years.
In terms of maximising the performance and lifespan of your batteries there are few ways you can do this. One way is by not leaving your batteries on charge all night.
Similarly to your the battery of your phone, if you leave the phone on charge all night it can actually downgrade the battery and therefore reduce the lifespan of the battery. You will want to take the battery off charge as soon as it is 100% charged.
Additionally, you will want to keep your batteries clean and away from dust. This is because the dust and dirt can get between the battery and the device terminal and therefore less the recharging effect. Because of this, you might want to place each battery in a plastic bag to ensure no contact with foriegn bodies.
There are many different makes and brands when it comes to rechargeable batteries. We have already touches one a few including the aa aaa c d pp3 but at Vapextech we also stock Airsoft chargers. Model chargers and airsoft chargers.
Before making your all important purchase you will want to ensure you make the correct charger to fit your requirements.
We hope you now have a much better understanding of rechargeable batteries and why they are important.
