Lipo batteries have a different range of voltages. This is indicated by the “V” on the battery itself. A typical Lipo battery cell will have a nominal (resting) voltage of 3.7 volts. Sitting bang in the middle of its maximum charge of 4.2 volts per cell and the minimum and safe charged rate of 3.0 volts. This is why 7.4 volt batteries are a configuration of 2 cells, ie double the nominal voltage.

The voltage of a battery pack is essentially going to determine how fast your vehicle is going to go or potentially influence the discharge of your Airsoft weapon. Vapextech lipo batteries range from 7.4v to 11.1 volt batteries giving you a wide range of power sources for your chosen use.

Lipo Batteries and Safe Chargers

Lipo batteries offer a great power to weight ratio, which is why they are popular for model batteries and airsoft. However, this superior performance over standard batteries and Ni-Mh batteries comes with a few considerations. There is a unique chemical composition which means that these batteries must be stored transported and charged with care and using the correct equipment. They can be prone to fire if punctured because the lithium reacts with the atmosphere and can reach a temperature for ignition. Overheating and overcharging can damage the cells which is why it is important to use the correct battery charger. We can assure you that our chargers are perfectly suited to providing the right type of charging for lipo batteries. This is a consistent charge as opposed to a pulsed charge associated with Nimh Batteries. The charger will also balance the cells so that each one has an equal voltage.
